Daniel recounted the humble beginnings of Toss It!, which started as a vegetarian salad and wraps joint.

“We started off as a vegetarian salad & wraps restaurant, focusing on fresh & healthy food and well-being delicious.” The initial idea was to offer patrons a taste of health without compromising on flavor, a notion that quickly resonated with the health-conscious denizens of Phnom Penh.

As Toss It! gained traction, Daniel’s vision expanded. Recently, the restaurant underwent a transformation, evolving into a fusion eatery that embraces culinary influences from around the globe.

“We still have wraps and salads but added a whole lot more to it. If you like to try something new – try the kimchi quesadilla or the masala omelette.” This culinary evolution has been met with excitement from patrons eager to embark on a gastronomic journey.

The success of Toss It! is palpable, evident not only in its expanding menu but also in its physical growth. Daniel revealed, “We just had our 6 months celebration and are expecting to move to the new location in April 2024 – still in BKK3, just outside Tuol Sleng.” The impending move signifies not just a change in location but also a testament to the restaurant’s growing popularity and demand.

Good Food, Community-Centric

At the heart of Toss It! lies a commitment to offering a unique culinary experience. Daniel emphasized, “I honestly haven’t seen any restaurant similar to ours.” This uniqueness is further amplified by the restaurant’s dedication to freshness, health, and flavor. Each dish is meticulously crafted to not only tantalize the taste buds but also promote well-being.

Moreover, Toss It! extends its impact beyond the confines of its kitchen. Sustainability is a core value, with the restaurant actively striving to minimize waste and reduce plastic usage. Daniel elaborated, “Sustainability is one of our core values – we try to be as waste-free as possible, we try to reduce any kind of plastic usage, etc.” Additionally, Toss It! engages in corporate social responsibility events, such as donating food to those in need, further cementing its role as a community-centric establishment.

A Taste for Cambodia

As our conversation unfolded, Daniel shared his deep appreciation for Cambodia and its people. “Really, it’s the people,” he reflected with a grin. Cambodia’s warmth and hospitality have made it not just a place of business but also a home for Daniel. His attempts to learn Khmer, the local language, have been met with encouragement from his team, fostering a sense of camaraderie and connection.

Toss It! embodies the essence of culinary innovation and community engagement. With its fusion cuisine, dedication to sustainability, and commitment to fostering a vibrant community, Toss It! isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience.
