Phnom Penh Pass It On Returns This December! A Charity Market and Family Day for a Great Cause

Phnom Penh Pass It On

The Christmas period is here, and with it comes one of the most community-focused events of the season. Phnom Penh Pass It On returns on Saturday 6 December, co-organised by Cambodia Lifestyle and BritCham Cambodia, bringing together families, local residents, and supporters to raise funds for Little Acorns, a British-registered charity supporting children across Cambodia.

This edition will take place at Himawari Hotel, right on the river, and runs from 2 PM until early evening. It’s designed to be simple, relaxed, and genuinely meaningful. A mix of a charity market, family activities, live performances, and end-of-day highlights creates the kind of afternoon that you can drop into for an hour or stay for the whole event.

A Charity Market With a Purpose

The heart of Pass It On is the market, this time at Himawari Hotlet. All items have been donated by the community and are sold on a pay-as-you-feel basis, with a minimum contribution of 10,000 riel. Every riel raised goes straight to Little Acorns.

Donations are already being collected
• Drop items at Himawari anytime before the event
• Or bring them on the day
• Anyone who donates gets a free beer or wine, while stocks last

The market will also feature a silent auction, giving guests the chance to bid on special items donated specifically for fundraising.

Family Fun From Afternoon to Evening

From the moment the event opens at 2 PM, the focus shifts to a family-friendly, feel-good atmosphere.

What’s happening on the day

• A performance by Future Lights Organisation (FLO), supported by Little Acorns
• Plenty of outdoor activities for kids, including classic British games
• A penalty shootout
• A lively opening and closing dance
• A lucky draw with prizes including wine, a Siem Reap hotel stay, spa passes, and more
• And at 6 PM, children are invited to take home any remaining items from the market

It’s a day that genuinely offers something for everyone, with no pressure and no complicated programme – just an easy way to spend part of your Saturday supporting a meaningful cause.

Food and Drinks by the River

Food stalls will be set up outside with vendors confirmed closer to the day. Expect easy comfort food, snacks, and a relaxed riverside space to sit and enjoy the afternoon.

Why Pass It On Matters

Pass It On started as a simple idea: turn unused household items into real support for children in Cambodia. The event has quickly grown into one of the warmest community gatherings of the year. Every item donated, sold, or bid on helps Little Acorns continue its work providing educational support, resources, and care for vulnerable children.

This is the second edition of the event, and organisers from Cambodia Lifestyle and BritCham say they are proud to grow it further and involve more people across the city.
