The Connection in Toul Tompong: A Community Photo Walk

Moments through the lens.

Phnom Penh’s creative energy takes center stage this September with The Connection in Toul Tompong, a free community photo walk hosted by the Phnom Penh Photography Collective (PPPC) in collaboration with Canon Cambodia. Taking place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, the event invites photographers of every level — from professionals with the latest Canon gear to beginners shooting with smartphones — to see the city through a different lens.

The theme for the walk is connection, encouraging participants to notice and capture the fleeting human moments that give Phnom Penh its character: a smile exchanged between market vendors, friends chatting over iced coffee, or children playing in side streets. These details are often overlooked, but they tell the deeper story of life in the capital.

The event begins and ends at Sundown Social Club in Toul Tompong, a lively rooftop venue overlooking the neighborhood’s bustling streets. Canon will provide the latest cameras for participants to test out and offer on-the-spot photo printing, giving photographers a chance to take home a tangible memory of the afternoon.

About the Phnom Penh Photography Collective

Founded to foster collaboration between photographers, the PPPC has quickly become one of the city’s most dynamic creative communities. It brings together professionals, hobbyists, and students for workshops, exhibitions, and public events that celebrate photography’s power to tell stories. Their projects often focus on themes of identity, urban life, and community — making “connection” a natural choice for this September’s walk.
